Office hours vary by country and company, and weekends differ in parts of the Middle East. Check public holidays before scheduling.
Finding the overlap
East and South-East Asia sit within a few hours of each other, so Tokyo–Singapore or Seoul–Jakarta calls are easy during the working day. The hard cases are spans across the continent and beyond:
| Span | Typical overlap |
|---|---|
| Tokyo ↔ Mumbai | Mid-afternoon Tokyo / late morning Mumbai |
| Singapore ↔ Dubai | Early afternoon Singapore / morning Dubai |
| Shanghai ↔ London | Late afternoon Shanghai / morning London |
| Seoul ↔ New York | Evening New York / morning Seoul (next day) |
India uses a half-hour offset (UTC+5:30), which is easy to get wrong when you calculate in your head. More on scheduling, weekends and holidays: Working across Asian time zones.
